Burn Water fenomenon is in its best right now. in the nightime all small animals of the river reflect pale-green light when water is agitated by boat, by fish or by crocodile. The light can be very strong: you don't need the flashlight at all. The crocodile catching is in its best, too, You can go to see alligators and crocodiles in their natural environment in river Wawashan and even capture the small ones by hand (if you wish to do so). We will show you how it works safely. Fishing is very good right now, boath in the river and the lagoon and some mighty tarpoons are waiting for you. 

But the most important thing is always easy going atmospphere and relaxing in culturally rich place. Dancing, playing drums, playing games, participate in nice social life of Easter time, feeling good and enjoying the life -- and living the Garifuna culture!

Traditional Garifuna drums (tambores) are divided into three categories: The big drum of the team of three "tamboristas" represents the past. The medium size drum represents today and the small drum represents the future. Played together these drums are the image and the vision of the Garifuna life-cycle and their believings. At last: Panga comes to Orinoco every day of the week

  January of 2013 brings great news for the Garifuna community of Orinoco: we have a daily panga connection from Bluefields. Some might say: it is about the time! New panga driver Humberto Joseph started to cover a transport gap of tuesday and friday and he is going back in Wednesday and Sunday.

Year 2013 brings new facilities for Hostal Garifuna: Soon we will have second floor with modern restaurant facilities, conference room, internet cafe and few more comfortable new rooms. Now we are finishing the roof and soon a restaurant with direct view to Caribbean sea will take a place. When ready we can offer for our guests delicious traditional Caribbean and Garifuna food in very pleasent environment.
